Great brewery and very cool atmosphere. The beers were all good and flights were priced very decently. I really liked the key lime sour and the Cape Coral IPA. Fun events all week are schedule and coffee and cars on some Saturday mornings are a great idea!
I have been wanting to try Big Storm Brewery for a while due to all the hype I've heard surrounding them, so I finally made it out to the Cape Coral location.
Like many other breweries in the area they offer a variety of events, and partner with a local restaurant to provide food offerings for their patrons (in this case it was a nearby pizza place), and they also will have food trucks come out.
As for the beers I was a bit underwhelmed after all the hype I had heard around them. They were decent but nothing crazy considering the scale of this brewery. I tried a cherry sour which was probably my favorite of the beers, as well as some of their IPA options.
Staff was friendly and offered samples of different beers for me to try before selecting my choices. They had a live band playing which is always a nice change of pace from just the radio or a juke box. Plenty of seating options and there were TVs available to watch at the bar.
Overall it was a good experience and I would suggest stopping by if you're in the area, but I don't think it's something I would drive out of my way for again.
New Micro Brewery in the Cape. I'm not an IPA girl so they gave us 6 samples until I found one I liked. I was going to be a whimp an order a glass of wine and then I sampled Tropic Pressure Florida Ale. Who knew!? I liked it!! I drank the whole glass- and will be back to try the Lightning Twenty Five Lager.
There are 10 seats at the bar, 11 tables for four- that can be moved together for large groups and 6 TV's for sports fans. Although they don't serve food, you can order from any place that delivers.
This is the 3rd Big Storm Brewery and the beer is brewed in the brewery in Clearwater and trucked in every day. Stop by and enjoy the music, staff and a little IPA.
Came in on a Tuesday with my husband and parents, it was completely empty! We sat at the bar and basically drank ourselves to death with amazing beers. They have so many types of beers to please any flavor palate you have! From light/hoppy/sour/ciders you name it! My personal fave was the sour. Currently they have their whole "category" line of beers for Florida's hurricane season, they even have a Category 5 that's 16% ABV! Such a cool little hole in the wall brewery and darts and pool, definitely check it out!
We came in and ordered 3 flights. I made sure to let the wife pick them out. Hence, no IPAs. That was fine with me. I was most surprised with the wide array of beers on tap, from radlers to barley wines to Berliner Weiss. The only thing that gave this a 4 star review was the lack of activities. No fault to anyone, however, last time we were in there were a multitude of board games, and that made our day. They do have pool and a bunch of tv's so you'll never be bored!
The overall quality of beer was great. Each person in our group has a different palate, but of the 12 beers we tried, everyone was happy with a few!
A few to try would be the oats in hose, tropic pressure, and the kölsch.
They are currently in a soft opening, but so far, so good! We will definitely be back!
